World Skin Health Day

World Skin Health Day is a joint project of International League of Dermatological Societies (ILDS) and the International Society of Dermatology (ISD). It aims to recognise and promote skin health around the world.

Each year College celebrates the World Skin Health Day to showcase the diversity of skin diseases in Australia and highlight the psychosocial impacts of living with skin, hair and nail conditions. We are grateful to all the patient support groups for working with us and ensuring the voices of patients are heard and understood.

World Skin Health Day 2020

For World Skin Health Day 2020, The Australasian College of Dermatologists is keen to hear about patients’ experiences and perspectives of receiving care from their dermatologist by phone or video chat, known as telehealth.

As part of the response to COVID-19, many more people will have had appointments with their dermatologist by phone or video. To support patients and their families who are offered an appointment by telehealth, we will be launching a patient resource on what to expect with tips on how to prepare.

How to get involved?

We are collecting stories, quotes, and pictures to complement the patient resource and help us understand how we can best support dermatologists and patients with telehealth in the future.

For example, these stories might highlight how telehealth helped you continue to see your dermatologist safely and conveniently during COVID-19 or be about how comfortable you felt having your appointment by telehealth – for example, what worked well, what could have made your experience better?

To submit your stories or comments on dermatology appointments by telehealth, please fill out the form at the link below.

By submitting your pictures, stories, and quotes you consent to us using, editing and publishing them (which may contain your image or that of your family and friends) in any of our publications and materials (including written, electronic or multimedia materials) for distribution anywhere in the world.
