Course Components

Online modules | Virtual Clinic | Face to Face Workshop | Assessment & online final exam

Online Modules

Each online module is estimated to take between 2-4 hours to complete.  Topics covered are the following:

  1. History, examination and lighting
  2. Morphology of skin lesions
  3. Science behind dermoscopy
  4. Dermoscopy basics
  5. Histopathologic correlation
  6. Choice of biopsy method

Virtual Clinic

Participants engage in the virtual clinic at the same time as completing the online modules. The virtual clinic simulates an outpatients’ clinic online.

It is a very practical component of the course where participants put theory into practice. Real cases are posted and participants are challenged to provide a diagnosis and first-step management plan based on clinical information, clinical images and dermoscopy.

Participants are expected to provide a solution to at least 15 cases that are posted as well as posting one of their own cases for discussion.
