The Skin & Cancer Foundation Australia, trading as The Skin Hospital (TSH) is a leader in the area of dermatology services and has an established reputation for exceptional expertise and excellence. TSH is a teaching institution linked to the University of NSW and St Vincent’s Hospital, The University of Sydney and Westmead Hospital.
TSH offers a number of accredited Dermatology Registrar Trainee positions annually; however, the Dermatology Research Fellow opportunity could suit a post graduate doctor who is looking to apply for an accredited Dermatology Trainee opportunity in the future.
The Dermatology Research Fellow will be responsible for facilitating clinical trials for 3 days per week at one of the two TSH locations. The position holder will attend and participate in selected dermatology clinics where they will take direct patient responsibility and conducting research relating to the field of Dermatology for 2 days per week. Clinic attendance and research projects will be undertaken as an honorary appointee.
It is an exciting time to join TSH and our clinical trials team, and the growth phase that we are currently experiencing. We continue to develop new services and expand clinical and surgical services at Darlinghurst and Westmead.
The position holder will be required to establish and maintain relationships across a range of partners and stakeholders, in particular liaising with pharmaceutical companies and relevant ethics committees, promoting trials, recruiting and examining patients periodically according to protocol and the preparation of papers for publication.
It would be most desirable for the successful candidate to have the following qualifications and experience:
- Must have completed two (2) years postgraduate medical experience
- Previous clinical Dermatology experience is desirable
- Competency using Windows based computer programs
- Good Communication skills
- Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team
