Dermatology Practice available in Port Macquarie on the beautiful Mid North Coast of NSW.
This busy general dermatological practice, established in 1998, offers a great opportunity for dermatologists who enjoy combining skin surgery with a challenging mixture of medical cases.
The practice offers advanced dermatological surgery, photodynamic therapy, phototherapy, iontophoresis and botox for hyperhidrosis.
We have been training dermatology registrars on rural rotations since 2002, and currently share a full-time trainee with the other dermatology practice in Port Macquarie. Both practices enjoy a collegial relationship, with a full cosmetic dermatology service available at the second practice.
The present consultant has VMO appointments at Port Macquarie Base Hospital, which is a teaching hospital, and Port Macquarie Private Hospital. Day surgery sessions are available.
We are a teaching practice for the UNSW Rural Medical School, Port Macquarie.
The practice is situated in a renovated house in a ‘medical precinct’ with 3 consulting rooms and 3 procedural rooms. Our staff are well trained, experienced and provide a friendly environment for our patients and trainees.
Port Macquarie has a modern Cancer Centre with radiation, surgical and medical oncology. The Chris O’Brien Life House offers a visiting Head and Neck service. Plastic surgeons visit from the Prince of Wales Hospital Sydney.
There is a comprehensive range of medical and surgical specialties available in Port Macquarie, including immunology, gastroenterology, rheumatology, infectious diseases, haematology, endocrinology, paediatrics, nephrology, orthopaedics, urology, general and vascular surgery, which makes for a constant flow of interesting referrals.
Port Macquarie is located four hours north of Sydney, by car, or 1 hour by air, with Qantas Link or Virgin. It is a thriving coastal town with excellent schools, private and public, a university and TAFE College.
There are some excellent restaurants, a well established coffee and cafe culture, with wineries, galleries and an entertainment centre.
The town centre is located on the Hastings River where it enters the ocean, with kilometres of picturesque beaches, and coastal walkways.
We are blessed with one of the most moderate climates in Australia. The region offers the possibilities of a ‘sea change’, or a ‘green change’, in the Hastings Valley hinterland.
Please feel free to phone or email to discuss this opportunity. Flexibility and assistance in any arrangements are guaranteed.
