Launch of the Advertising Hub

Posted 6 years ago

On 1 July the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) launched the Advertising Hub to support recent changes to the regulation of therapeutic goods advertising. Advertisers can use the resources on the hub to learn how to meet the requirements of a compliant ad. An e-learning module explains the basics of therapeutic goods advertising, while an online decision tool guides advertisers on whether they can advertise a particular therapeutic good to the public. A fact sheet on pre-approval requirements also outlines what’s changing in regards to ads for therapeutic goods that require pre-approval.

With the revised Therapeutic Goods Advertising Code now available, advertisers should become familiar with the arrangements for how we will transition to the new advertising code which will come into effect from January 2019.

This new hub is also home to a range of materials aimed at consumers, including a streamlined complaint form for reporting suspected advertising non-compliance.

More updates and additions to resources on the hub are planned throughout the year.

Feedback on the content and functionality of the Advertising Hub is welcomed and can be sent to TGA.Advertising@health.gov.au.
