Invitation for public comment
Cancer Council Australia, Clinical Guidelines Network, are inviting comment on the draft Clinical practice guidelines for keratinocyte cancer. These guidelines are a revision and update of the 2008 guidelines: Basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma (and related lesions) – a guide to clinical management in Australia.
The guidelines are open for public consultation for 30 days from 7 June to 8 July 2019.
The update of the guidelines was commissioned and funded by the Department of Health Commonwealth of Australia, and it has been overseen by a multidisciplinary working party with input from subcommittees. They focus on providing clear guidance on the diagnosis and management of keratinocyte cancers (KCs) in the Australian population with the aim of reducing morbidity and mortality from these cancers. The revision is based on current scientific evidence and systematic reviews were performed to answer specific clinical questions.
Further information regarding public consultation, including instructions on how to make a comment, can be found here.
All comments received during public consultation will be reviewed and considered by the working party and/or technical team. If necessary, individuals will be contacted directly to obtain further clarification. Where appropriate, revisions will be made to the guidelines content.
College members are able to provide comment as individuals or contact Haley Bennett to inform College’s response.
