College committee structure

Changes to committees described at the at the 2018 Annual General Meeting (AGM) were to the Audit and Risk, Nominations and Governance Committees. These are committees of the Board- comprising  only of Directors.

Committees reporting directly to the Board are the Representatives, Academic Standards, Professional Standards, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and Community Engagement Advisory Committees.

All other Operational Committees and Taskforces report twice annually to the Board. Members are usually Fellows. It is not a requirement that a Board Director be present, but this may occur.

The College committee diagram notes that State Faculties are important in College governance, with several of their officers sitting on committees reporting to the Board or Operational Committees.

Trainees have the Trainee Representatives Committee that also has a direct link to the Board and the College Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Staff employed by the CEO provide the support  for the committees.
